About

Meet Liz

My purpose as a counselor is to assist you in finding balance with your thoughts and feelings so that you may begin to take action toward what matters to you. Worry and despair can feel paralyzing and we may end up in a cycle of trying to avoid those feelings. Unfortunately, the consequence of avoidance may be missing out on life's true enjoyment. Therapy offers a non-judgmental space to help clarify your values, learn skills to accept and tolerate difficult emotions, rediscover who you are, and live more fully.

Anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and relationships are among my clinical interests. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my primary approach and combine other evidenced-based approaches, such as ERP, EMDR, and Gottman Method, to meet the needs of the client. I believe we all have within us the ability to live with purpose, despite the obstacles and challenges we're faced with. While processing the past can be an important part of therapy, I also emphasize the "here and now" through mindful practices and intentional goals.

My work experiences range from corporate, non-profit, and residential to private practice settings. I have experience working with couples, families, and individuals (ages five and up). I currently primarily see teenagers and adults.  Outside the office, you can find me enjoying time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, working on a puzzle, learning something new, strengthening my yoga practice, or curling up on the couch with a cat (or two) in my lap and a cozy mystery novel in hand.
